In each market there are several forms of engineered substrates.
Semiconductor—SiGen has developed and patented the NanoTec™ technology, a revolutionary low temperature process that allows the transfer of high quality thin films to a variety of different material substrates. This SiGen technology enables the production of very high quality, cost effective engineered substrates for the semiconductor market, including Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI), Direct Silicon Bond (DSB) and 3D wafer packaging.
Display—For the Display market the SiGen NanoTec™ layer transfer technology has been successfully applied to fabricate Silicon-on-Quartz (SOQ) and Silicon-on-Glass (SOG) substrates for LCD projection and direct view displays.
Optoelectronics—The Company's NanoTec™ layer transfer technology can be successfully applied to fabricate SiC, GaN or other materials on suitable substrates. The applications for these engineered substrates include LEDs, blue lasers, and RF.
