SIGEN HAS DEVELOPED A RICH SET OF IP PATENTS, TECHNOLOGY, AND KNOW-HOW BASED ON ITS LAYER TRANSFER DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS SINCE 1997. A KEY COMPONENT OF SIGEN'S BUSINESS STRATEGY IS TO LICENSE THIS TECHNOLOGY SET TO MAJOR CUSTOMERS WHO WISH TO IMPLEMENT ENGINEERED SUBSTRATES AS A CORPORATE MANDATE FOR NEXT GENERATION PRODUCTS.
Companies licensing the SiGen layer transfer technology normally enter into a multi-year license agreements with an upfront license fee, followed by a negotiated royalty rate. Although SiGen's licensing terms are fair and reasonable, no two license agreements are exactly the same since different companies require different licensing structures based on their, and SiGen's, contribution to the final process.
As part of the licensing agreement, SiGen generally works closely with their partner to develop a process recipe, specific to the needs of the individual customer. After almost ten years of layer transfer process development, SiGen can significantly reduce the time-to-production for engineered substrates through it's know-how and show-how expertise.
